THE IMPACT OF THE URBAN LEAGUE OF ESSEX COUNTY'S PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

We provided in-person learning during the pandemic to 90% of our learners as well as laptops and tablets to continue quality educational learning at home with instructional support services.

Over 250 young people have participated in our Newark Kids Code Program since 2018.

Our Pre-Apprenticeship Career Education (PACE) Program participants achieved a 98% completion rate.  Our partners include Essex County College, National Coalition of Resources, National Community Reinvestment Coalition and NextWave Safety Solutions, Inc.

More than 50% of our PACE Program graduates have gone on to work in the construction field and or accepted into an apprenticeship program.

The ULEC is a training site for PSE&G’s Clean Energy Program.  PSE&G’s job training program will prepare up to 2,000 state urban residents for jobs with the contractors that will implement PSE&G’s energy efficiency programs.

175 people attended our In-person and Virtual First Time Home Buyer Workshops in 2020.

In 2020, the Urban League of Essex County helped 10 families purchase their own homes and 77 people avoid foreclosure.

66 individuals enrolled in ULEC’s Savings Programs combined to save $30,765 even during the pandemic.

To date, during the pandemic, we disbursed over $100,000 in emergency rental assistance.

ULEC has provided over 200,000 pounds of food during the pandemic.
