A Message From Our President and CEO
In consideration of social distancing and the COVID-19 pandemic, the Urban League of Essex County (ULEC) is proud to announce that our annual R.E.D. - Racial Equity and Diversity - Gala will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021. It will be broadcast as a " Virtual Experience" to celebrate the past and future advances for communities of color. Please Save-The-Date. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year and we hope that we have your support at least equal to, or greater than, previous years as obviously our client families in Essex County are experiencing extraordinary hardship with COVID spread, joblessness, and food insecurity.
The Need for Your Donation – Now More Than Ever
While we will miss the opportunity to meet in person, the growing need makes it imperative that our work continues. Did you know that over 100,000 families received food donations through our partnership with the Community Food Bank of NJ? In addition, through ULEC's core initiatives, including Housing Assistance, Workforce and Job Training, IT/Coding programs and, our onsite Daycare and Preschool.
The need continues to grow and your support for this virtual gala will ensure that these programs are not interrupted throughout the pandemic and into 2021.
