The Guild is an important part of the Urban League movement - contributing thousands of volunteer hours annually and playing an invaluable role in connecting the Urban League to the communities that we serve.
As a member of the National Urban League Council of Guilds, we are a part of the “85 strong” chapters across four regions across the United States.
Guild members are actively involved with:

Fundraising for annual events to support scholarships and community programs

Volunteering as mentors and tutors

Assisting The League with special projects

An annual Day of Service
The Urban League Guild in Newark began in 1945, and since that time, Guilders have donated their time to deliver services that extend public understanding and support of the National Urban League and its programs.
Guilders also participate in outreach events and fundraising and help to develop the leadership skills of ordinary individuals by engaging them in local community issues.
