Hours: Monday - Thursday; 9am-4pm (in-person)

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Prepare candidates for the CompTia Information Technology Fundamentals (ITF+), certification course.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The ITF+ Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ (ITF+) certification. This role involves designing and teaching courses that introduce students to basic IT concepts, including hardware, software, networking, security, and troubleshooting. The instructor will guide students in acquiring foundational IT skills, preparing them for entry-level IT roles or further education in information technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and deliver engaging ITF+ course content, ensuring alignment with CompTIA's ITF+
    certification exam objectives.
  • Teach fundamental IT topics such as:
    o IT concepts and terminology
    o Infrastructure (hardware, software, and operating systems)
    o Software development concepts
    o Database fundamentals
    o Basic network and security essentials
  • Assess student progress through quizzes, assignments, and mock exams.
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to reinforce learning.
  • Mentor students and provide guidance on career opportunities in IT.
  • Stay updated on the latest IT industry trends and CompTIA certification updates.
  • Create and maintain instructional materials, including presentations, study guides, and lab exercises.
  • Assist in developing new teaching strategies and technologies to enhance student learning experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ (ITF+) certification required.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or other related certifications preferred.
  • Experience in teaching or training in IT-related subjects preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students effectively.
  • Knowledge of basic IT concepts and technologies, including hardware, software, networks, and security.
  • Ability to design instructional materials and adapt to various learning styles.
  • Patience and enthusiasm for teaching beginners and non-technical learners.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Previous experience in a classroom or teaching environment.
  • Experience with curriculum development or instructional design.
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and online course delivery.
