The Source of Knowledge Bookstore has been serving the Newark community since 1992.

What began as a bookstore has evolved into a community center that specializes in Black art, Black literature, culture, and community. It provides a place for local Newark artists to gather and events such as book club meetings for book lovers.

Notably, it creates a space for young people to discover themselves amongst the bookshelves, for students to dig deeper into Radical Black thought, and collects funds each year to sponsor free books and hot meals for the youth of Newark.

Accepting on behalf of the Source of Knowledge Bookstore are owners Ms. Masani Barnwell, Ms. Patrice McKinney, and Mr. Dexter George.
